The Real Role

One of my main goals before 2013 ends is to finish this book that was given to me before I got married: I mean, come on, its been 4 years already right? I am always telling husband that may be the reason he keeps on complaining about his wife ( jokingly, but half meant of course).  I sure a lot of wives, more so a lot of mothers like me are trying the best they can to live this crazy life. We want the future to be the brightest possible for our family.  But can you girls also relate that sometimes, when we are stretched to the limit, we complain about our uhmmm, predicament? We start the day preparing breakfast, fixing our kids up, making sure everything is in place before we leave. We go on to a full day at work, then as we arrive home we start making dinner without even sitting down for second.  Your husband on the other hand, wakes up, eats breakfast, goes to work, comes home and eats dinner, and then rest. He is tired from work. Sometimes in my exha...

Three times a week

Notice that as you age its not just your years thats climbing but also your weight? Nature, sometimes I do hate you.  I spend time with these people 3 times a week. I hope they are doing me some good.  I love zumba and I love doing it at home. I used to do a full hour and a half but I stopped for the boards and now I can barely do 40 minutes. What the hell happened?! Nature is really mean sometimes. Hehe (insert crazy emoticon here) Have a great weekend! TBBMD

Honor

There are things you do with great honor. Like fighting for your country. Serving the poor. Dying a martyr. But those are huge things. There are small stuff that makes you swell with pride. Here's a few of mine 1. Treating patients and they get better 2. Taking care of my child  3. Studying my a** off A few weeks ago, I was part of the entourage for two of our dearest friends, Wendy and Gj. We have witnessed most of their journey together as friends ( when they were so thick skinned and they didnt know how perfect they were for each other- seriously, its like you want to slap them again, and again until they break out their trance haha). But like everything in life, its all in God's perfect time, and sure enough that fateful day of Nov, 23, 2013, God let them have their happy ever after. I did forget to mention one small detail: their wedding was the day before my diplomate board exams. Crap, do i hate oral exams, given the fact that I almost failed my revalida during med schoo...

Money Matters

During one very lazy clinic day, I was reading an issue of Moms magazine and got caught up with the topic of finances. In the article, The Road to Financial Independence, Kendrick Chua emphasized the importance of recognizing needs vs wants. A celebrity finance guru said, " We spend the money we don't have, to buy the things we don't need, to impress the people we don't like." I will be the first to admit this is my struggle. The lure of sales just seem to have metal claws that sink into me. When Kate Spade throws a surprise sale I go absolutely crazy. After all the craziness dies, I will  proceed to ask myself , do I really need a new bag? My husband would immediately tell you I don't. After reading Kendrick's article I proceeded to list my debts and its not pretty to look at. It's not enough to bury me deep, but my family is still in a financial situation and I feel embarrassed to have spent on something I don't really need. I am currentl...

Shhhh

Image source:  http://www.babble.com/mom/special-needs-parenting-me-time/ As much as I love my boys,  my (rare) happy hour of the day is to have them both asleep. Then I can read, watch tv and blog hop in silence. I find solitude in being alone, with my thoughts heard a little bit louder and clearer in my head.  Of course, time alone with God is the best part of it. Good night everyone! TBBMD

Morality and The Dogs

I feel like I have to say something, with all the rampant issues in the society today. It seems that the world wide web has given people a louder voice, and an unbelievably huge amount of courage to say what's on their mind about anything and everything. I know there was this issue about a comedian making a joke about very delicate social issues, and there have been pretty severe blows from both sides, celebrities and non celebrities, about the matter. What saddens me recently (in fact, just this morning), is a statement that a friend of mine retweeted. which is something like, " If you get offended by comedy, it just shows what kind of person you are." Excuse me? I think its time I put a premium on morality, and beliefs. Most of the times I just stay silent on such issues, but as of late I have been pretty much bothered by how things contradictory to my beliefs have been so blatant and outspoken, and yet I sit here keeping my mouth shut. I feel like I letting th...

Hugs and Tugs

I feel that our church, International Charismatic Service, is something like a bee hive these past few months. It's buzzing ( pun intended) with palpable energy. We have several activities and projects running simultaneously as of the moment, and sometimes I cant catch up! But nevertheless, I'm so excited and I cant wait to jump in. You've already heard of the homegrown album launch and concert happening this June 16. But another exciting milestone that ICS is anticipating is the preschool center that will open this month. Yup, sometimes I cant believe it myself! Finally, a school in our church! And with Matteo nearing the preschool age soon, can God's timing be any more perfect? This year, Matteo's second cousin Noah will be one of the first students. Will your child be one of them? I am really so overwhelmed by the pace of God's work that has suddenly been poured into our church. I love the passion and vision that the current pastoral staff has been thriving...

Beauty Daydreamer: Digital Traincase

On with my virtual window shopping! I've put a cap on my shopping to Php 500 a month, because I will admit, I will combust If hold out for such a long time! Haha. I just being realistic, y'all. So I think 500 is pretty acceptable, what do you think?  I've used up this month "credits", and I have created a wish list of sorts when I stumbled into the Digital Traincase website. Digital Traincase is one of the most popular, and reputable cosmetics seller in the country and most people ( importantly, makeup artists) have vouched for it. I wanted to look into their Nyx line and fell in love with a few things. I am in a constant search for that makeup brush set, preferably travel size, not exactly pro. I know Charm brushes have quite consistent ratings among beauty bloggers, but the last time I checked their stock over at The Ramp, Shangrila last December they only have the Travel pro set set priced at Php 1,000 which was too much for me. So imagine ...

Nails from the Dark Side

I recently purchased my dream nail polish color ( as of the moment) at the nifty price of Php18. Yes, you've read it right, my friends! It rose above my face shop and forever 21 shades! Woot woot! But first, here's the two shades I got. OMG? Haha I bet that one cracked you up. I pretty much liked the range of colors of this brand, it seemed modern and youthful. There were even neon shades, I tell you! Even the names are quite young, in constrast to Purple Orchid or something similar. Lol! And here is the Ultimate Polish Shade for me: I like how fine the glitters are, like an adult woman can pull it off unlike the circle and hexagon mega- glitters of other polishes. It also builds up, and the gradient is so subtle. If I can hijacked someone's nails I would love to show you the shade in ombre style. I shall wear you often my friend, please don't dry up in the bottle too soon.  Have a great day!  TBBMD

My Lipstick Stash (Part 1?)

Left to right: 1. In2it's Roses 2. Human Heart Nature's Lucky in Love 3. Sephora's Maniac Mat #2046A 4. Mac Archie Series' Ronnie in Love 5. The Balm's Smut I've finally overcome laziness and decided to take pictures of the stuff that goes into my bag.  But first of all, I must admit, I have two makeup cases. Not that I have a lot of stuff, but I just like to have the lipsticks and palettes in a separate bag so that they dont scratch. I realized that it is one of the few moments I'm OC, the rest of my sense of order is thrown into the dogs. Haha. Anyhoo, it was only recently that I've taken an interest in lipsticks. Are we in the same boat, totally into lipglosses and balms before but now intrigued with those color tubes? We are growing up ladies! So i've built up a little collection. I know its non significant, but who knows, I'm hoping that it will grow  soon (hence, the Part One). I will try to swatch each one a...

The Tale of Three Shirts

I know I shop a lot ( before) and I'm all for those insane marked down prices but when it comes to basics I tend to expect too much. It should be tenacious enough for the everyday grind so I'm sad to say one brand let me down ( for this basics line at least). I haven't really bought any apparel from Bench in the past, because ( forgive me for being a snob), I find the quality flimsy. For other stuff, especially the cosmetics (ever been a fan of their cheek tint?) and underwear (the cheapest quality sports bra out there!) I love. So one day last December I was on my Christmas shopping when I ran into their Japanese cotton shirts. I used to believe that anything labeled with Japan or Japanese carry a heavy amount of credibility, and the feel of the shirts was unbelievably soft you just couldn't resist. But fast track to today? I was dismayed to find my beige shirt was worn out- three months of its life with me. Maybe I used it weekly during the hot months of...

Photoblog: Matteo's First Tagaytay Trip

Sharing to you Matteo's first Tagaytay trip. Yep, it's definitely memorable but its not something I want to do again! Haha I'll tell you in a little while. Our first stop was the Cliffhouse, but it was still too early and most of the restos were closed. So we decided to take photo ops and move on. We then headed to Bag of Beans for breakfast. It was my first time (late bloomer, I know). I find it similar to Sonya's, without the bed and breakfast. Coffee is coffee no matter how late in the morning! The little one felt right at home! It got me wishing for a house with a big yard so we can eat out during breakfast! What is conscious mag-project! Obviously, this outfit shot is a fail. Too stiff, bordering on constipated! haha Top: Gap Leatherette pants: H&M Shoes: Primadonna Sunnies: Accessorize Turban: Greenhills Necklace: Earth works at Manila Fame Here's where the problem started.
