Honor

There are things you do with great honor. Like fighting for your country. Serving the poor. Dying a martyr.

But those are huge things. There are small stuff that makes you swell with pride.

Here's a few of mine

1. Treating patients and they get better
2. Taking care of my child
3. Studying my a** off

A few weeks ago, I was part of the entourage for two of our dearest friends, Wendy and Gj. We have witnessed most of their journey together as friends ( when they were so thick skinned and they didnt know how perfect they were for each other- seriously, its like you want to slap them again, and again until they break out their trance haha). But like everything in life, its all in God's perfect time, and sure enough that fateful day of Nov, 23, 2013, God let them have their happy ever after.

I did forget to mention one small detail: their wedding was the day before my diplomate board exams. Crap, do i hate oral exams, given the fact that I almost failed my revalida during med school (feeling ko talaga!). So naturally, I was already feeling nauseated for weeks and was bordering on exhaustion on that day. I could have said no. I could have gone away with it.

But I remembered the times during our wedding preps when Ate Wendy and Gj supported and encouraged us, with or without sleep. I know they were sometimes bone tired but would come to rehearse as a band for the reception. And Im sure there were praying ceaselessly for us as a couple when we took that leap of faith.

So when Ate walked down that aisle looking so beautiful and happy, I knew I made the right choice. I cried, which I never do at weddings, even my own. My sister and brother by the blood of Christ, united at last.

I took the board exams the next day, and by God's grace I passed. I knew deep in my heart that part of God's favor was because I honored my friends' request at their wedding. I'm pretty darn sure that's what God would have wanted.

I pray only for the best for Ate Wendy and Gj.

It was a great honor to be with you at your wedding. And even a greater honor to be your friend.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY.

Hugs and Tugs

I feel that our church, International Charismatic Service, is something like a bee hive these past few months. It's buzzing ( pun intended) with palpable energy. We have several activities and projects running simultaneously as of the moment, and sometimes I cant catch up! But nevertheless, I'm so excited and I cant wait to jump in. You've already heard of the homegrown album launch and concert happening this June 16. But another exciting milestone that ICS is anticipating is the preschool center that will open this month. Yup, sometimes I cant believe it myself! Finally, a school in our church! And with Matteo nearing the preschool age soon, can God's timing be any more perfect? This year, Matteo's second cousin Noah will be one of the first students. Will your child be one of them? I am really so overwhelmed by the pace of God's work that has suddenly been poured into our church. I love the passion and vision that the current pastoral staff has been thriving...
